Her father was a businessman Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. Director of an Internet-based networking company. Her family was Catholic and she grew up on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Her parents into the Convent of the Sacred Heart which was a prestigious, religious and private school. The music was her love since childhood. She began playing the piano when she was just a little girl. At thirteen, she composed her first piece. She performed in open mic nights.
